Hi Alistair, Surprised to see both the 18” and 19” wheels are near enough the same OD, as you suggest the tyre side wall height varies.

It is so the gearing remains constant, otherwise the calibration of the Speedo would need to be adjusted for 18" or 19" wheels, my Boxster allowed me to input wheel / tyre size combinations and the computer did the rest, unfortunately not available on Morgan's.

I have just had the SSL kit fitted to my Plus Six... what a transformation.

Gone is the wallowy feeling when you go into a fast corner and the front-end used to kind of tip into it, you never really knew whether it was going to grip or understeer and the rear didn't give any clues that it was actually connected to the front!

The car is now a little stiffer but not uncomfortably so, it is confidence inspiring when pressing on enthusiastically and it feels like a proper sportscar rather than a cruiser.

If you are thinking about having it done, just do it, you won't regret it.

& it's adjustable?

So you can tune it to your preference :-)

I ran mine for a few thousand miles before fiddling with mine, so that both me and my suspension had bedded in.

FWIW, I raised the car a smidge to save me from the sleeping policemen that litter the streets around here, and stiffened the dampers a click or two to compensate.

Enjoy!

Will

I also installed the SSL kit on my Plus Six and as Le Ciffre57 says It's day and night. doesn't touch anymore. Steering is more precise. I ride with more confidence. It's a real change in behavior and I highly recommend it to Plus Six owners whose suspension has sagged.

Just a quick update, we undertook several ferry rides last month and toured through France, we had zero grounding issues going on and off the Brittany ferries when fully loaded, and only experienced one slight grounding when going over a very large traffic speed bump in Brittany. Overall I would say that the SSL kit certainly seems to help on the ride height.

Does the SSL kit also improve the ride of the 2023 models?
Reason for asking is that for model year 2023 the PlusSix is claimed to have an improved set up.

It says on their web site there's no facility for ride height adjustment.Had a torrid time driving through Bury port town this afternoon caught the car about 6 times going ever so slow so something has to be done, Very happy with the handling though,I will speak to Mark the guru Baldwin at the factory first before committing to anything. Anyone know the price of the kit in DIY form. Em

Hi All,
I had the SSL suspension kit fitted to my ‘22 Six this week at Allon White, great service from them.
First impressions are very good.
On B roads the car feels so much more balanced and tracks much more evenly through corners, with none of the bounce that I found unnerving.
I have much more confidence in the car when pushing on.

On A roads and motorways the car feels stiffer but still comfortable.
There is none of the sponginess and bouncing from the rear.

In terms of ride height, I measured from the top of the wheel arch to the ground before and after.

Stock suspension:
Front 64cm
Rear 63.5cm

SSL:
Front 66.5cm
Rear 66.5cm

So quite a significant lift & it does look noticeably higher.
I think the height is adjustable with this set up, but will leave it as is until I have some more miles on it.

Ollie.
