This was in the showroom a fortnight ago - £87,259.80 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/06/28/blue_plus4.jpeg) Was sorely tempted, but decided I'd hang on to my 110 year anniversary trad Plus4 No way would let me have both The CX is a lovely drive - I drove one for 4 days through Wales & The Cotswolds. I did miss the exhaust notes on my trad

When speaking to a dealer the offer is for colour upgrades only. It excludes leather type and quilting pattern upgrade. It includes paint type (solid, metallic, pearl)I think it also excludes carpet upgrade to box weave too. Colour is not restricted to the MMC so you can specify any colour you like. It is aimed at stimulating sales to compensate for expected drop off over the colder months. Did I read a post where you said you are about to order a new MOG? Having read the ad for the Colour offer it does look like upgrades for leather type, carpet type. Possible confusion in the info somewhere? Stewart, yes I am changing to a Plus Four. The Plus8 is going. Had great times in it but impressed by the Plus Four. Yes it is £ to buy but when mrs sospan searched for cars after a test drive ( I was more relaxed) it brought things forward from the plan to change next year. I managed to get some pops from the exhaust on the test so part way to compensating losing the V8 burble. I do think there could be scope to continue with a trad version though. A retro car that could well fill a niche.

The CX Plus 4 is a great car, but it is about £15,000 too expensive. This offer makes it attractive and will tempt fence sitters. Hell, if I hadn't bought the Porsche Boxster S I would have been talking to Henry....

Thanks. I wonder what I'm doing wrong... Ah, if I go to https://morgan-motor.com/plus/plus-four/. and scroll down and find 'Start Configurator' then that does work. But not the 'Configurator' button on another page (one I can't be bothered to find again I'm afraid). I just want a web site that does simple things, simply. I don't want one full of marketing pizzaz and dynamic sliding image boxes whizzing left right and centre. But maybe others do..... Oops, configured plus four came out at about 95k so the paint reduction would not really help that much. But I guess that means I'm not in the modern Morgan customer demographic. Dave, I don't get wizzy images and marketing guff either If you just want an easy to use price list with auto total, try this https://allonwhite.co.uk/plus-four (click on the price calculator tab)

A CX can become expensive if the options are just ticked. Play with the configurator and see the ££££££ multiply. Basic car £70k . What extras do you NEED? Then you get sucked in to add the littles extras. Some of the options are simply mad! This is where the Colour offer is a no cost benefit to a buyer. MMC is “sacrificing” the ££££ they can get for personalising. A bit like a loss leader that supermarkets use. Psychologically, you get the Colour discounts but then think “ I can spend that saving on other extras!”. MMC get a sale and keep the factory ticking over by grabbing extra sales to fill quiet periods. It’s simple marketing behaviour used by many industries. It can, however, tip the scales for someone on the edge of ordering to take the plunge.
Another ploy is Special Editions. Limited number of cars with specific design differences. It can also be used to clear out stocks of components.

I think Morgan doesn't just have a problem with the high prices and the technical problems. In addition, new open cars are downright unfashionable. Apart from the luxury class, there are hardly any new models on the market, existing ones such as the BMW Z4 will probably only be phased out. Everyone wants SUVs. This anti-cabriolet trend further reduces the possible sales figures. Unlucky times for Morgan.

Has anyone else noticed MMC has brought back 'Bring the Colour' promotion until April 2024?

Has any information been made available as to what the hold up is? I thought the addition of the airbags was mostly down to enabling sales in the US.
The silver lining for you Frank is that the current CX, IMHO, is much better sorted, nice interior etc so perhaps the delay was a blessing in disguise.
