2011 4/4. Ever since new she has always had a tendency to pull left on braking with the front left(nearside uk) locking up 1st.
Every service this has been looked at and improved, but not fully ironed out. Anyway as I have started doing track days thought I better bite the bullet & get to the bottom of the problem. Well after the right hand calliper had been rebuilt 3 times & left once It was decided to replace the right offside calliper, mainly for diagnosis.
Well the brake pads had been changed the last time we rebuilt the calliper along with new discs, so we used the year old pads.
Hey Hey! once the pads had settled & run for about 100 miles NO MORE PULLING LEFT. Stops dead straight even from over 100mph (on track) Two months on still stopping straight. Left hand Calliper is the original Caparo the right a Morgan one, they are exactly the same apart from the logo on them.
Just thought might be of interest as I can only think that that the weak calipper had some internal restriction, which was not found. We had noted that the wear on the rotor (disk) was not the same as the near side, inboard. Looked like not enough pressure.
If caparo had still been in business I would have sent the duff caliber to them to investigate.
Guess if any of you are having pulling brakes don't discount the callipers being "Funny" well would be if it was not so dangerous.
I should say it has always been in MOT limits. Just.
