Hi chaps You may remember a while ago Simon kindly let me plug a new project I had on the go, a decent scale all metal representation of a Spitfire. Well, I got the required names for the cost breaks from the CNC guys and the project went ahead. I waited patiently for updates from the machinists and a week or so ago the parts arrived safe and sound. I then spent a time polishing and fettling and making sure I was happy with the stand before making those. The images here are my own Spitfire. Im chuffed to bits with it  Id like to do a version with it sat on its wheels and a brass prop that could be flicked over. Maybe in the MK2 !! Wing span is 400mm Hope you like it! You had to do a lot of polishing! But the result is fantastic!

But the reality is the Hurricane did the heavy lifting. A better gun platform that could take more damage due to the steel frame with wood & canvas. Easier to repair etc.
Sure not as fast or agile but it delivered. The Spit though is a thing of beauty.
