Just got back from a road trip in France and my power steering pump is constantly running, even with the ignition key removed.
After a little investigation, I find that this is a common problem with the 2000 to 2004 mini, from where the pump is sourced.

Just interested to find out if others have experienced similar problems.

Hi Alistair

Where did you get your replacement. I can only find an exchange/refurbished replacement and no repair kits available.
So, I am thinking it may be fairly simple to fix. Maybe just the failure of an electronic component.
I plan to strip it next week and will report on my findings

I have many limits in life - my ever patient good lady will often point them out to me - so when it comes to work on the car I leave it to the dealer. I believe they sourced from Morgan however that was several years ago.
