Always room, hopefully for an interesting low production niche. Aesthetically, I would struggle to select it over an Emira/Alpina/Cayman ICE option, assuming it was equivalently priced which is always a challenge.

Will be interested in your thoughts on both! OK. Here is the picture I managed to get on my first visit to the Caterham stand ... ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/07/14/20230713_144850.md.jpeg) Seriously, it was rammed in there! Things were a bit quieter over at Pembleton, and much more my cup of tea. I've seen these guys previously at Farnborough and the NEC and I think I like the car more each time. They tell me sales are good, they currently have a 1 year order book ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/07/14/20230713_132242.md.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/07/14/20230713_132258.md.jpeg) This was the first time Mrs. W had seen one and I tried to gauge her reaction. She said she actually liked it (good news) but I couldn't afford one (bad news, but sadly true). Back to Caterham and I managed to push my way through to snap this... ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/07/14/20230713_144921.md.jpeg) It was getting a lot of favourable comments, although I heard one pair saying how much better it would be with a nice V6! The Electric Seven wasn't on the Caterham stand. It is taking part in the shoot out on the hill and therefore in the "First Glance" paddock, which I didn't visit yesterday. I might spot it when I go back on Sunday or possibly on the live stream before then.

It looks very close to this new ICE car (2 l. Duratec - 200bhp):- https://wellsmotorcars.com/vertige. I wonder how Mr. Wells feels about this new pretender? It will certainly be cheaper, about £50k - £60k I believe, and if the development guys have their heads screwed on, there will also be an EV option soon. As an early adopter of a Caterham 21, back in 1997, which I kept for 5 years, I look forward to a little more sophistication. I believe Alpine are also electrifying an A110.............

The problem I have with the Vertige is it looks a bit too' Lotus', but good luck to 'em That may be, but today a Lotus is no longer a Lotus, at least what it used to be. So the Caterham is a bit of an epigone and also a bit of a faithful heir to the Lotus era of sleek and nimble cars. The Seven was also a Lotus, of course, built by Caterham under licence.

Interesting! .... I shall pop into their stand on my way to the Pembleton one! I too like the Pembleton (noted 1 for sale from the M3W FB page). Would like the pseudo reassurance of a rollbar though!

I managed to get a good look at the Caterham electric 7 on Thursday, not much to report though.. The battery pack is where the engine was, as you would expect, to have the same weight loading. It was also around the same physical size, although the front of the car is empty as there is no radiator fitted..The battery pack and its cooling system is put together by a UK company ( at least the name indicated this on the top of the batteries ), but I cant remember who they were.. Did not get to see the drive motor as wife was not keen for me to lie down and look underneath... Watched it go up the track.. underwhelmed I am afraid, whizzed past silently like the majority of electric vehicles, but did zilch for me. Guess I just dont like the present generation of tricity powered vehicles.

Things are getting weird right?
Seven with half it's sensory bundle deleted, Lotus rebadging a Geely electric lorry, VW not having enough ID sales to keep the factory open showing the market that the game is changing.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Everything must change to appease the Climate Change Ogre..... But because most people are unconvinced that the COP 20 objectives are achievable they are not following the paths demanded by the Ogre. I'm a supporter of the COP 20 Resistance Movement, we have just fitted a new gas boiler and we are keeping our 2 petrol engined cars.
