Great to see this, and the electric 7 on the way soon.

There’s also an article in Evo magazine about the Project V.

I shall pop into their stand on my way to the Pembleton one! wink

Will be interested in your thoughts on both!

OK. Here is the picture I managed to get on my first visit to the Caterham stand ...

Seriously, it was rammed in there!

Things were a bit quieter over at Pembleton, and much more my cup of tea. I've seen these guys previously at Farnborough and the NEC and I think I like the car more each time. They tell me sales are good, they currently have a 1 year order book

This was the first time Mrs. W had seen one and I tried to gauge her reaction. She said she actually liked it (good news) but I couldn't afford one (bad news, but sadly true).

Back to Caterham and I managed to push my way through to snap this...

It was getting a lot of favourable comments, although I heard one pair saying how much better it would be with a nice V6!

The Electric Seven wasn't on the Caterham stand. It is taking part in the shoot out on the hill and therefore in the "First Glance" paddock, which I didn't visit yesterday. I might spot it when I go back on Sunday or possibly on the live stream before then.

I managed to get a good look at the Caterham electric 7 on Thursday, not much to report though.. The battery pack is where the engine was, as you would expect, to have the same weight loading. It was also around the same physical size, although the front of the car is empty as there is no radiator fitted..The battery pack and its cooling system is put together by a UK company ( at least the name indicated this on the top of the batteries ), but I cant remember who they were.. Did not get to see the drive motor as wife was not keen for me to lie down and look underneath...
Watched it go up the track.. underwhelmed I am afraid, whizzed past silently like the majority of electric vehicles, but did zilch for me. Guess I just dont like the present generation of tricity powered vehicles. laugh2

Just getting back to Caterham for a second!

I was back at FoS on Sunday which, bizarrely, seemed a lot quieter than Thursday. No crowds around the "Project V" car this time so I got some better pictures.

They also had an Electric "Seven" on the stand so I snapped that and found the other one in the "First Glance" paddock.

Nothing about them appeals to me. I can't imagine ever owning an EV, the only thing that remotely whetted my appetite was this bonkers creation from Renault, but I think it's just a one-off!

There was a lot of talk about carbon neutral fuel (CNF) this weekend, which several teams are now uisng. Sebastian Vettel ended the weekend with a promotion for his "Race Without a Trace" campaign. I see The Automobile magazine has a piece about it this month, now I'm back from Goodwood I'll take time to read it. CNF looks like a more feasible proposition than EVs to me.
