I did ask before I took them...bearing in mind its a forthcoming model but no one minded. In fact I'd been discussing the new Plus8 with Dixon, the guide before and he pointed out the chassis and invited me to photograph it!

One thing that grabs me is that it will have a reasonable boot even though access will be tight! I wonder if there will be a Sport style slot to store the side screens in?

Like you Jay I did ask permission before taking my photos, but it seems that MMC are happy to have the Plus 8+ 'scooped'. camera grin2

On the prototype, it does have a slot for the side-screens, together with a sort of cubby hole with a lid which should take a Rolleiflex (as per Bill Boddy's car test requirements!). smirk2

Fab camera, but I suspect my shockproof/waterproof Olympus is more suited to my Morgan.

Were these pics taken before Aeromans & Mine? If after, presumably there will be a few Protos Made then before launch? It will be a fantastic car. coffee
The only issue, if you can call it one, with a trad having very wide Outboard and Inboard Sills is that some people will have difficulty with getting in and out, particularly with the Hood Up swmbo . I have heard that comment related by some Aero owners as well.

laugh2 Let's drool indeed!
I've had a C330f, with several lenses etc. Good camera, but I replaced it with a Bronica SQA.
The Rollei 35S - made in Singapore I believe. I still have mine in black. Travels with me a lot, even if it doesn't get a great deal of use nowadays. There was a chap specialising in parts and repair here in the UK, but when he retired he sold off the lot - some £30k+ worth - don't know who bought it. He'd collected the parts over the years from various NOS sales - was a real enthusiast. He had a web site with repair information pages - DIY too.

Ooops, gone off topic again hide getcoat wink

I agree with you. I think it looks like a bit of a dog's breakfast, to be honest (but then it is a test mule). If you look at a nice traditional car (like the 75th edition, just out), you'll see that the detailing and proportions are what make the car (not to mention the fact that the 75th, with its almost total lack of chrome and black wire wheels, looks like some sort of wartime racer - lovely! :)). An Aero 8 is appealing for a different reason - it's a retro pastiche of a trad, but does look modern, if a bit ungainly from some angles (I love mine, but will never pretend that the front three quarters view of the car is a pretty one)

The prototype posted on page 1 looks to be neither. Not vintage enough, but not really modern either. It looks like someone has taken an Aero 8, chopped bits out of the doors, and grafted a traditional rear end on (which is probably exactly what happened, thinking about it!). As such, to my eyes, it just doesn't work, visually.

If they can get a genuine traditional style body (including wire wheels, please!) onto a modern chassis and running gear, then we'd be talking!
