Has anyone put together a list of things to gather together and put in a box to take away on a road trip (say few days to a week)?

I'm thinking fuses, relays, bulbs, boost pack, hand tools, .........

Unfortunately it won't be this year that we can get away for that long in ours, but I do want to start gathering to bits together so that I can decide on a box to put it all in.

Ours is a 2004 Plus 8 with 17000 miles, and (so far) is reliable so I'm hoping to not need loads, but would like to be prepared!

Actually I'm less of a fan of Rain X than I was. It does its job of causing rain to bead and drop off but plays merry hell with the wiper action when they are eventually needed. From now on I will be using a vinegar based window cleaner which has proven fine working with wipers. It also removes excess polish that finds its way onto the screen.

rolls of tape

Some insulation tape, some gaffer tape and that tape that you use to seal split hoses (I think it’s called Wrap-fix made by Duck tape)

Essential for any long trip and Morgan adventure

I’ve had to use all three on long trips over the years, not all on the same same trip and not always on the Morgan thankfully but they have all been ‘life savers’ or ‘car trip savers’

A few spare nuts bolts , screws, wires & connectors. The +8 is famous for failed relays. Throttle & clutch cable or bowden cable kit. Grease gun for longer trips.

I remember a few years ago someone asked the same question and by the the time the thread had descended from the essential to vaguely practical, just before the hilarity really kicked in (which all good Talk Morgan threads should do of course) you’d need to tow a trailer to take all the items suggested

Just don’t forget the towels

And don’t forget more towels

Disposable gloves and hand wipes

The number of times I’ve had to do something messy and didn’t have anything proper to get all the grease and dirt of my hands only to touch the leather and my nice steering wheel
