A recent trip to Skye ment spending a lot of time on motorways to get up there in a decent time. One thing that was uncomfortable was my left leg/knee as it rested on the transmission tunnel. So here's my attempt to do something about it. A bit of soft edging for £5, double sided taped to the edges, under the leather trim. I did both sides and the front edge in the end just to make it look neater. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/07/18/IMG_20230718_111643.md.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/07/18/IMG_20230718_132224.md.jpeg) The leather had to be stretched a little to fit over, but doesn't look bad. I have 5hrs of my mainly motorway driving tomorrow so will see how effective it is.

Is it the heat , or a pressure pint that you are trying to protect from?
Looks neat

So, there is another benefit of having a lefthand drive car, I learn… In my lhd car the left knee rests against the door, and at that very spot I positioned a little sponge in the door pocket. BTW my 2009 Roadster has foam padding under the leader on the geartunnel from new. Nice job btw Mark!

Just thought I'd report back on how effective it is.
Well it's better than it was, but being a Morgan it's never going to be truly comfortable. I didn't have to keep adjusting my position to change the pressure point so I will keep this mod in place, we are booked on our 1st European tour in Sept to the Italian Lakes with plenty of motorway driving to get there.
The tunnel on mine also has padding but only on the flat surfaces, it goes up to the corners but not around them so they stay more defined I suppose. I had to flatten out the padding on the sides when refitting as it tended to bunch up underneath, it's only attached to the leather on the bottom edge.
Heat isn't the problem I was trying to address, just the pressure point, the tunnel can get hot when I'm being a bit enthusiastic on B roads but not really on the Motorway with relatively low revs and good airflow.
Anyway there you go.
