As I understand it, the recess in the rear of the vehicle is only available if the option of the bracket is ordered with a new car. Therefore, a retrofit is not or only very difficult possible. Whether the threaded holes for the bracket are present in the chassis if this option is not ordered I do not know.
The design of the backet has not been changed. My dealer has the orginal bracket only additionally on the outside stainless steel welded, as seen in the photo,

Now I had to look myself. The brackets on my PlusFour (one of the last MY 2022 produced) are only spot welded. I made an appointment today with my dealer to have it double SS welded as a precaution.

I just got a call from my dealer, the brackets are double SS welded now and I can pick her up! Drove in the 1990 4/4 in the meantime and gave here a good wash and polish. The 4/4 and PlusdFour are different worlds, although both with their own charms! love

interesting statement Ruut. What is the difference for you between the worlds of the 1990 4/4 and the 2022 PlusFour? That would interest me very much since I only know the PlusFour smile

Well Clemens, that's an interesting question that was asked me several times these days. I can say it is a complete different experience. Driving the 4/4 is working, heavy steering, while you feel the chassis work a little, lots of noise, some rattling, Morgan smells because hot air from under the bonnet finds it way into the interior, eg through the leather manchet of the fly off handbrake. And the transmission tunnel becomes hot. Nice in the winter...! 😉 You feel every bump and especially you notice the rear axle to give a push from the back so now and then (you feel it in your spine), even on the motorways. And although the sound suggests a fast car, it is not that fast. But this all seems negative, it is not. After 250 km of driving you feel you really did work. You feel direct completely familiar with the car, but of course that is because I drive it for 27 years now. At the same time you understand that it is less suited to drive long distances without feeling fatigued. As I picked up the PlusFour yesterday and drove back, you feel it is a complete different world. Smooth, fast, I call it Morgan driving 2.0 and further. I did stream some music, enjoyed the ride, everything. It was again clear to my, why I bought this car. No regrets!

4/4 washed, cleaned and polished. Had a good drive of 500 km in her and took the PlusFour back home again!

Picked up the new Plus Four fromWilliams yesterday. 100 mile drive home on M4. Started hood down put pulled into Magor services when it rained and hood up from there. Auto not manual. Usual busy sections at Newport and Port Talbot. Car was really nice to drive. Compared to the Plus 8 it feels modern. No bad thing. Smoother ride and a nicer place to be. A move in the right direction to enjoy Morgan ownership in the coming years. No V8 burble but I can live withthat smile
Noggin tonight so first trip but only about 20 miles each way.
Off to Morgans at Windermere in September again then tagging on Scotland so need to get 1k miles dealer check in before that. Looks like trips to get that target. Oh dear! What a shame! Never mind!

That’s a lovely looking car Sospan. I’ve just had the 3 month/1000 mile service conducted on my Plus Six and although there were quite a few minor items to be rectified, I’m thoroughly enjoying this car. Indeed, although I loved my 3.7 Roadster, this is the first car I’ve had in a long long time where I really look forward to getting out and driving the arse off it.
Hope yo feel the same about your Plus Four.

Em, had lots of thoughts since the CX’s came out. Played with configurators etc.. Decided to wait until early glitches had been sorted. A good move!
Then money got diverted from the “Bank ofMum and Dad” so the plan was next year for the change. Did a test drive in an early manual Plus Four and Lynne liked it. She then ( not me!) started looking round. Test drove the auto one we bought. A year early than our plans but what the heck!
A very nice car and the loss of the Plus8 burble not really a barrier. When testing the manual I could get some fruity sounds to compensate! Performance wise it matches/exceeds the Plus 8 as the turbo effect compares to 3k rpm in the Plus8 when it came alive. Normal mode so far with Sport/Sport+ to come when more familiar with the car and it has got a few miles on it. Lynne bought me a a new hat to wear too!
