Pedal overhaul and refinement slowly coming together. Pedals painted (completely bare metal ex factory) greased and re-assembled with full compliment of end play washers (one missing!) New brake return spring simply because I had one.

Struck lucky with my stainless fixings supplier when he procured exact ¾" id washers in the preferable phosphor bronze from old stock. Just waiting for properly engineered stainless M8 clevis forks to match master cylinder rods.

Sadly on the 3.7l Roadster we can't swap the speedo so I don't need marks I have Jan Nav to help especially when following the driver of Bertie

Interesting Richard as my pedals were painted. So was the missing washer the cause of the clutch slop?

Painted pedals must have been the no cost Brooklands option then John innocent

Hopefully pedals will firm up with minimal end float when all bolted down. Strangely although the pedal pivot tubes are bronze bushed to swivel on a common fixed ¾" steel tube, the outer ends of each have a larger diameter bush than that on inner ends closest to pedal arms confused2

Good job by the looks of it.

Always interesting physically accessing the pedal fixings - contortion central!

When I fitted seat heating in mine at one stage I was upside down in the passenger seat on my back with legs waving in the air, Morgan yoga

Been there and got the tee shirt.

Never quite sussed which is best- a lamp strapped to the forehead that catches on the underside of the steering column, a magnetic torch that falls off because there’s nowhere magnetic to attach it or a mains inspection lamp the cable of which snags on anything and everything.

Haven’t tried the ask SWMBO to hold the torch technique yet

I have a Makita cordless lamp with a swivel head that is great for working under the dash. I just put it on the floorboard on the opposite side from where I'm working and aim it where I need the light.

Those magnetic inspection torches are the work of the devil. I once spent an hour looking for a bolt that "I definitely put just there". I even asked my wife to look on the basis that it can't simply have disappeared.

It was of, course, stuck to the magnetic inspection torch.

Yes my back can attest to that.
