Good afternoon to everyone, hoping you are all enjoying your Morgan a bit more with the summer days!

As in the title, I have a stupid question about my 2012 3.7l Roadster.
I bought it second hand 2.5 years ago, and the car was supposed to have power steering.
My first drives were full of emotion, but I think to recall that the car was showing symptoms of a failing power steering during the first drives (like assistance being very irregular and on and off).
Since then, it has clearly no assistance anymore, so I am thinking, maybe the car was simply without power steering.
I checked under the bonnet, and did not find any evidence of it being fitted, neither did the specialist during the maintenances, now he also told me he was more used to older Morgans and never saw one with it being fitted...

So my stupid question is: How could I check if it was indeed fitted and would you have pictures to help me locating it?

In the cabin, on the steering column you have an electric motor mounted perpendicularly. But 2012 models don't normally have power steering.

If you cannot see it as described on column below dash then you don't have it. The missing two fuses 10 and 40 amp would be another sign. I believe it became standard on 3.7 Roadster some time in 2013.

It should be standard on your car. One thing I found with mine was that there is a box bolted under the passenger side firewall. The cables weren't pushed fully in, they clicked over the catches when pushed.

I also find that when you click on the ignition key to the first stop i.e. before turning to start the car you need to give it a few seconds to settle. I wait till the dials traverse across & back before starting. If I don't sometimes the power steering isn't on.

My power steering is motors mounted onto the steering column just above your right knee.

Also try pushing your relays in. Mine used to rise out of the socket & that caused issues. New relays solved that.

At launch the 3.7 Roadster was said to have PAS as standard, however the early production ones (customer cars delivered from 2012) did not, my pals 2012 certainly does not have it despite being delivered many months late

As above, on my car it sometimes fails because the main connection plug under the dash comes loose, pushing it together fixes it.

My car is from June 2012 ill let you know if it is there or not...Another stupid question, I have noticed that most of the early LHD 3.7 Roadsters have their hand brake command on the right of the center tunnel, and left on the RHD.
Mine is LHD, and have it on the left...
Is it possible that this car was originally RH converted to LH?

Back from my diving session.
I do not think I have it, but I do no see the steering column either as it is under a carpeted cover.
This cover does not seem large enough to contain the motor as shown in Jon's picture.
To be fully certain, and instead of removing that cover, would you have a 3.7 Roadster fuse diagram so I can check if I have the related fuses Richard mentionned.

Hi Olivier. Below is picture of fuse box on my 2018 Roadster.



The power steering fuses are the large 40 amp orange one to right of picture adjacent to main 80 amp power distribution fuse. There is also a a power steering control fuse 18, 10 amp, in the engine fuse group lower left. This fuse is adjacent to unused fuse positions 19 and 20 for position reference.

Reading about this issue it appears that PAS should have been fitted from the introduction of 3.7 Roadster in February 2012. In fact it didn't appear until March 2013.

Regarding handbrake position, the parts book and diagrams suggests no distinction for l/h or r/h drive cars. The handbrake was always, intended at least, to be on the left.
