If the ECU upgrade was found to be a fix then when (if) was it introduced to new build cars? 2021? 2022? 2023?
It would make sense to be the standard ECU version as soon as discovered? Surely a cost effective fix to prevent expensive repair?

IIRC a latent defect introduced at build stage of a vehicle (as the law sees it) is covered for a minimum of 6 years at Mfr expense to correct

The update is made during the overhaul of the car. Ask your dealer if it was done on your car.

My Plus Four was delivered back as promised; a great job done by Williams. The parting of the coolant hose did me a favour as during the investigation a small leak was discovered in the radiator. Without doubt it would have got worse and let me down again. A modified rad was fitted by Williams; quote: The latest radiators are single pass radiators (as opposed to triple pass). The radiator cores will have additional fillet welds in each corner. Additional inspection checks to ensure that the radiator is flat and not distorted above a certain degree before fitment. Special ECU software is installed that manages the coolant fluid flow in the system and progressively manages the flow of hot and cooler liquid to mitigate thermal shock in the system where hot fluid meets colder areas if the system.
