Hello, I'm Gerard
I'm desperate, I don't have a Morgan workshop here in Spain
Normal workshops could not help.
My morgan: morgan plus four, built in 1992, Motor Rover m16 17000 miles
Problem: it starts great, runs smoothly and powerfully
After about 5 miles the power drops and at full throttle there is no more combustion
Gas back and forward again, but he jerks no more.
The ignition off and on briefly and he drives about 5 miles normally again.
This keeps repeating itself.
I have already done that:
Engine control unit ECU replaced (error remains the same)
Tank cap left open (pressure equalization)
New fuel pump and fuel filter
candles new
Checked water and intake manifold sensors
The phenomenon is the reset by ignition off/on
Maybe someone has ever had such a mistake, I would be grateful for tips.

Poor contacts in ignition switch possibly?

A long shot unless someone knows different but try a new fuel pump relay.

Another possibility is blockage somewhere in fuel line that eases when no fuel pressure.

when I had an M16 Plus 4 , which was usually reliable, I had just two issues, One was similar to yours in that power fell away but on restart was normal. This turned out to be a failing alternator. We did think of that first but dismissed the idea. However after eventually changing it there were no more issues of that nature. The other occasion was an abrupt engine failure as if the ignition hd been turned off. That was the clue of course. A quick swap over of the two relays under the dash by the bulkhead and the car started and ran as normal. I guess we are clutching at straws here but this might be helpful.

danke für die Info
ich habe die Pumpe extra geschaltet und bei Motor ruckelt
aus und eingeschaltet.keine funktion.nur mit zündung aus/an
verrückt!

ich werde die Lichtmaschine überprüfen lassen
allerdings ist das Bordnetz immer bei 13 bis 13.5V
das bedeutet,die Lichtmaschine funktioniert.

Another idea to determine whether it is an electrical or a fuel problem.
How long does it take you to drive 5 miles?
Start the car, but do not drive it, just let the engine idle for the same amount of time that it takes to drive 5 miles. If it still cuts out, then it is unlikely to be fuel related but more related to an electrical problem like an over heating contact or relay.

Is the hole in the fuel cap blocked, take off the cap when it stops and see if it hisses.
