So, the conventional handbrake as on the CX-models is not that bad...! laugh2 I certainly can live with it! The fly-off handbrake on my 1990 4/4 is maybe a nice relic, but never practical and certainly not something you can rely on. I appreciate my PlusFour handbrake, but don't neeed an electronic version.

My Plus 4 has the handbrake to the left and forwards of the gear stick. It’s RH drive and I need to lean forward in my seat to reach it. Not too much of a problem and it gives me a little exercise.

If MMC were happy (for the most part) to place it on wrong (left hand) side until the end of UK production they were unlikely to move it across to right for left hand drive car's.

I have harnesses in my +4 and always struggle to reach the handbrake. Have considered the Simmonds offering, but would be very interested in any alternative suggestions

Yes, but ours seems to be farther back from others that I have seen.
