Previously I may have argued that MMC would have been happy to entice new owners into an older Morgan with the belief they would get hooked and purchase a CX when they could; however, I cannot imagine that being group Investindustrial's plan.

So for me, whilst I like the spirit of the video and see it as well crafted, I don't believe the attempt to align Gen-Z values with the product is as successful.

Yes & sadly sad old gits like me who have the dosh don't see the attraction of a very competent car but with no storage and none ot the trad foibles.

Well I had to supress a couple of thoughts.

They certainly don't care about my money anymore.
It has at least made a clear statement about who they do want to target. Not necessarily wrong, definitely different. But then I was at least half way there with my aero fetish..... All you trad loving folks probably just shuddered wink

So if I eject my cynical bones for a moment. doh

I like it. It is well made, different, seems more honest than many. Quite fresh.
I say that because she is not some vapid influencer, (c)rapper or football player (male)
She has built a career and done well as a businesswoman if you look at her profile.
It gives her choices like the van, I see the van as a personal decision like a Morgan would be considered? Again not a baubled diamond encrusted stately home on wheels with a 65" TV in the back and sat dish on the roof.

The way I look at it this is Morgan trying to get her following not the other way around. She is not being presented to us as we are not the target (they have our money right?). Would someone who aspires to her profile be the sort that would see something as different and cool as a PlusX and say, "I want a bit of that, it's not a Geely BEV SUV"

If I were to imagine her following it then it might be a good target, independent, smart minded, decision making people who want to stand out.

Well the future target anyway.

Oh and it would have had the same effect at 3:30.

Now about that spare part availability. waiting

The marketing/advertising world is complex.
It can sell less than the best products by creating an image.
Is Carlsberg the best lager?
Do you drive a Golf away after leaving a relationship?
I made Hamlet cigars. The ads were a theme...ā€Happiness isā€. When things go wrong light one up. The top selling cigar of its type despite not coming out top in blind tests. I have a vhs of the ads ( the one with out-takes was better but I don’t have it any more).
Selling an image/lifestyle is highly successful. Sow the seeds in peoples’ minds.
Many products end up as iconic for their adverts.
The CX Morgans are certainly not cheap so the brand has to be visible. Over the years what visibility has Morgan had? Times have changed and so must the brand. MMC are in a tight world of being a small volume manufacturer that gets exemptions from many regulations due to that. They have to survive in a difficult market by getting the balance of profit right within tight operating limits.
How many Morgans are bought on image? My guess is quite a significant percentage. Look at the low mileages of so many cars. Bought on for the image ?

Seems about right - many of us on here are obviously not the target market for that video!

Production was in the summer of 2021. Nine units were built.
