Very nice, Image.

I've always liked the HD Knuckelhead very much, they're beautiful and the sportier counterpart to my Indian Chief. Unfortunately, they have become very expensive. The prices of the 1936s ones (HD collectors holy grail) have exploded...

Since you've had yours for so long, you've probably been able to get them very cheaply from today's perspective.

Jens ... mine's nothing like the above .... it was a chopper when I bought it in California in 1979 when I was staying there .... needed an engine rebuild but I paid $300 (at the exchange rate then £150) for it😁 .... wish I could have bought another 10 at that price .... engine work wasn't expensive either .... rode it round sunny CA for a year as my daily then shipped it home with me as I'd fallen in love with it.

The fact that it was completely non-stock when I got it has meant that I could change it any way I wanted without feeling guilty about messing with a piece of history ... it's had quite a few changes of persona in the intervening 4 decades 🙂

K

Top pic ... as it was when I rode it round CA .... rest stop with a bunch of riding buddies on a road trip through Yosemite 1979

Bottom .... its current incarnation .... just about all genuine Harley cycle parts from the 60's and 70's but mostly somewhat modified.

I've had some enamel tank badges made up for my Norvin project, I think they've turned out well.

After a very long wait the engine is finally back - fully rebuilt with an electric start and other goodies. Now all that's to do is put the bike together !

An old biking pal, Derek Peters, was/is a life long Vincent addict, very active in the Vincent Club at one time. His last Vincent was a "Bitsa" Comet with 12v electrics, high compression cylinder head, front disc brake, Ohlins rear shock, and so on.
He sold it when he couldn't start it......and got enough to buy a new Vauxhall Astra for his daughter....
Today Vins attract silly money....towards £100k....
