Starts tonight in France and the opening match, France/New Zealand could be the match of the tournament.

Enjoy, and all the best to every country partaking in the event.

Great opening game, enjoyed the game with family in NZ via Whatsapp. great first half for NZ with some good rugby, but the French dominance started in the second half. Lots of Rugby over the next 7 weeks will herald in the colder autumn months.

Yes a really good game, the French played a blinder.

Thank you Clemens.

Couldn't believe the England game outcome once the yellow became a red card send off. I thought that was it; we are in for a thrashing especially on our current form. Down to 14 men against a very strong Argentina (on recent form) and the veteran Ford drop goals were an absolute delight to watch, much like Johnny Wilkinson in 2003 and we know the final outcome of that World Cup. Thank goodness the 80 minutes came quickly towards the end, as the English substitutions saw the game start to swing towards Argentina, A great day for English supporters who have had very little to cheer in recent matches. I still don't rate England's chances this tournament, but It was uplifting to see the team come together and play their hearts out.

Looking forward to watch the South Africans play today, its already looking like the makings of an excellent World Cup and we haven't seen what Fiji, and the other pacific island nations will bring to the event and what upsets may unfold.

This may prove of interest its a bit of background to the World Cup and its current location, a series of programmes with an interesting NZ prospective, you may have to copy the link into your browser.

Yes an incredible match to watch, I can't remember watching a more committed side once they were a man down, a joy to watch and Argentina just looked bewildered.
A great start has been made so far with the early matches and today has some good one's coming up..

France and Ireland are looking very strong so far.

Fiji, what a game (despite the inconsistent refereeing)............the final fumble robbed them of an exciting win. Best 2nd half I've seen in years. Should be an interesting pool.

Wales after a very poor last 18 months got the win against a higher ranked team, despite doing there very best to loose the match, Fiji were so committed and both teams were full on, the Josh Adams tackle was breath taking, you need very big nuts to pull that off.

A great result against Fiji but that ref was not helping the game at all. A full on game with some great match play.

Scotland conceding penalties just assisted the already dominant Springboks, it was difficult too with the ex South Africans in the Scottish side.

I could not understand why 3 penalties in quick succession on the Welsh try line only lead to a warning and no penalty try or sending off and yet one cynical foul/penalty later, on the Fiji try line lead to a yellow card! I also couldn't understand why the ref blew when the Fiji were pushing towards the Welsh try line and not play advantage, if Fiji failed to score or lost possession, he could still have pulled them back to play the penalty! I did feel he sent off the Welsh player only because of his precipitous sending off of the Fijian moments earlier, when in reality a Welsh player should have been sin binned much earlier following the try line 3 penalties.

Same inconsistency in the another game when Ford's head was knocked backwards (and he didn't even have the ball) yet Curry was sent off .I do have my suspicions that from time to time the nationality of the referee may influence the game....I know the Irish never seem to like having Barnes as a referee, as he always pulls up their offside infringement.

Well, if every game was refereed to the same high standard and every infringement pulled up, it would take as long as an American football game,. The rugby is certainly more exciting if allowed to flow, but on occasion I do nave my suspicions and waiting for some betting scam to be unearthed at some point in the future.
