Does anyone know how the larger and matte bezels below are attached to this black recessed panel? I have made bezels for the 10 smaller indicator lights above and I want to make these 4 larger ones in the same style. Can I simply pull out these bezels without any risk of damage to the the black panel? I don´t want to apply brute force here. Thank you for your inputs [Linked Image]

Think after market ones are generally stuck on with some sort of mastic. You could try the “cheese wire” method using dental floss to cut through it. Alternatively simply drop the dashboard and look behind. 10 minute job.

IIRC the switch bezels are integral to the push switch outer, so be careful

Perhaps best to machine something thin that will sit over the existing 'ring'

I can confirm Coopermans info. The bezels are a part of the switch and cannot be taken off separately. To take it apart you will have to drop the dash and unscrew a sort of plastic nut that sits behind the switch. The switch then comes loose, bezel and all. Honestly, I do not think your little project is possible, hopefully I am wrong. By the way, if you really want something that stands out, change the black plate with Wolf Performances' veneer in turned steel or aluminium. Very elegant.

Thanks Robbie- As I now know how these switches are put together, with the bezels integrated, my decision is very simple: Just leave these switches alone !

God decision. Plus nobody else seems to have complimented you on the 10 small bezels you made, well done.

Late again! Here’s the EAO switches disassembled. The same as yours but with chrome plated brass bezels from a later car.

Had the same dilemma on my first car. Made my own light bezels but the switch bezels weren’t worth the grief so stuck with the ali.
