Good morning,

Due to advancing years and deteriorating vision, but mostly because everyone has a superb camera attached to their mobile phone, although they might not know how to use it properly, I am looking to dispose of my equipment. I am looking for a suitable auctioneer who specialises in photographic equipment, rather than one that chucks everything in a number of cardboard boxes and sells as a job lot.

Any suggestions please?

Regards Alistair

I'm a member of the Canon Group on Facebook, its not a bad place at all. There are some very knowledgable people on there (I'm not one of them) including several 'pros'. Its also a decent place to buy and sell good quality equipment and realistic prices.

If you're not a Canon user I'm sure there are similar groups for other 'premium' brands too.

Might be worth a visit.

If any of your kit is relatively modern, I can heartily recommend Wex. Very easy and straightforward to deal with plus fair valuations.

As Paul said, also MPB (I have used them quite a bit).
Depends on what the equipment is - ffordes photographic for Leica kit in particular, but also others.
Mifsuds Photographic are always crying out for used equipment..

Auctioneers: Flints are highly regarded, but again this depends on what you wish to dispose of.

Graham would you have any recommendations for an old Leica M4?

What sort of condition Rog?
Either Ffordes (www,ffordes.com) or Red Dot Cameras (www.reddotcameras.co.uk) - will either buy or sell on a commission basis. M film cameras have been increasing in value over the last few years.

Better still, buy some film and use it! thumbs smile
