Hi,
I´m planing to change the dashboard of my M3W ... I´m thinking to fix a laser cutted Stainless steel part over the existing original plastic dashbord.
Therefore I´m looking for a CAD file of the original form of the M3W dashboard... did anybody of you something similar or does anybody have a CAD file of it?

Hi,
maybe I was not that clear with my words / meaning of "dashboard" ... the dashboard with all instruments and the start button etc. is mounted onto a plastic component (painted in vehicle coloer) which ends in a round shape into the food space.
On top of this part I would fix a laser cutted replacement with the instruments etc. in a new position (not fixed yet).

These are laser cut engine turned stainless steel dashboard panels I had made at FPM Metals in Nebraska. I designed the templates which FPM will still have. If you have the original design dashboard, the side panels will fit your M3W unaltered but the center panel won’t. I repositioned the speedometer and tach, redesigned the mounting brackets for the speedometer and tach, and the speedo and tach bezels are hand made solid milled and polished stainless steel.

I had my wood veneer dashboard prepared by a marquetry club... they are quite happy to take on commissions for nice wood dashboards! Used the original leather panel as a template... PM me for contact details if interested.

PauIV, a nice wood panel would look great.
I didn’t explain what I did very well.
I made the three section templates including cut out positions and holes and sent to FPM Metals. The side panels are a simple retrace of the preexisting leather panels with hole positions, hence should fit in any original design M3W dashboard. The center panel was a modification of the previous aluminum panel. I added a radius to the top and repositioned the speedometer and tach and bottom switches. FPM then traced the templates into their computer and laser cut the panels from stainless steel including cut outs and holes and engine turned the panels. So if you were interested FPM Metals would still have these files in their computer.
Eddy, best of luck with your project. For me it was fun seeing it come together.

The file format isn´t that important ... I can format it to the needed version for the laser cutting machine. I will also replace all instruments to different positions... it would be interesting how you solved it.

...sorry - just saw that you wrote that FPM Metals should have the files in their computer... is there any chance that you could check with them the availability of this files?
