Here is the report from my clutch cylinders:
We replaced master and slave cylinder (35000 km).
The slave cylinder was full of metal behind the piston. The chips look to me like they do when machining cast iron. See image.
The housing is cast iron, the bore with no scoring and smooth as a child's bottom. The aluminum piston has no scratch, so it can't come from that.
I suspect it is residue from machining and was not washed out of the bores properly.
Slave cylinder is an original Mazda part "Made in Japan" Order no. at Mazda: NE55-41-92XA
The master cylinder is a Lockheed part which may have been adapted to the Morgan clutch pedal by Shiftec (Made in UK). LB16HC08M16
The master cylinder has no metal damage either, but the seals are gone. This cylinder was already replaced after 11000km on warranty
Learning: Carefully check both cylinders, when one of them was failing. Carefully check clutch fluid, Even when it looks crystal clear in the reservoir.. If you find magnetic parts there its too late.
