My S1 Aero oil pressure seems high when warm, but maybe it's normal for these.
At stone cold idle it's midway on the gauge, which I think is good
After 5 miles or so it is just above the low red gauge markings at idle but at 2000rpm if just off of the red high pressure marks on the dial. After 10 miles it's dropped closer to midway at 2000 rpm but at 2500rpm is just off of the red high pressure part of the gauge again.
Is this normal, or even healthy, or does it warrant investigation, would appreciate your thoughts please

From my experience with my 2 Aero S1's the needle tends to be around the 12 o'clock position once warmed up and doesn't deviate much from this even on hot days /traffic may not get past 5 minutes past 12 so sounds from your description your car may need looking at if needle climbing towards the red closer to 1pm?

From my experience with my 2 Aero S1's the needle tends to be around the 12 o'clock position once warmed up and doesn't deviate much from this even on hot days /traffic may not get past 5 minutes past 12 so sounds from your description your car may need looking at if needle climbing towards the red closer to 1pm?  sorry just realized you referred to oil pressure not water temp. Both my Aero's show really good high pressure but can't say at what temp /RPM.

Morgan specialist today said these early S1 cars often show oil high pressure & it very likely to be more of a gauge reading issue than anything to worry about.
However I thought I'd change out the pressure sensor to see. On removing the radiator cowl, on the right hand side of the engine there is the vertical temp. sensor, and to the right of that is a horizontal sensor which is orientated in the same direction as the propshaft & quite near to the top of the engine just behind a large diameter water hose- Am I correct in thinking that is the oil pressure sensor?. It's easy to unplug (there is a removable steel spring clip) but the side of the sensor barrel is smooth with no hex nut to get a deep socket on. Am I looking in the right area & if so how do you remove it?

Maybe the only way to know which sensor it is might be to bridge the connections on the wiring plug to see if the gauge hits max

Took me a while to get around to it, but it does seem to have been down to a faulty sensor which is a nice easy resolution. Thanks for all help
