What a great resource for lovers of these quirky cars!

Has anyone seen this colour combination before? The previous owner tells me the bonnets were resprayed before he got the car in the 80s, but the rest of the old girl could do with a touch up . Wings are very good. I think the red is Signal Red P030-0437, but the grey seems lost in time. and is certainly darker than the resprayed bonnets.It also seems to have a fairly low sheen finish but that might just be age, I feel a bit low sheen myself at times.

Quite striking although I think the darker grey of cowl on bonnets would look better. I recall seeing similar but with both colours in a matt finish round about 2019, they may have been reversed though with red bonnets.

We know at least the basics were the same from new, as she had a starring role in a trashy movie “Now and Forever” in 1983 in the same livery. (4:30 mark on YouTube if your interested, please don’t bother after that .. shudder). Previous owner bought her in 1984. I’m going to get more details from MMC shortly, and tbh you can’t really get too much detail from the film. We’ll see. I do know the original owner was also local around here in NSW, and from what I can tell he ordered her as she is. The original owner promises he didn’t do anything with paint since 1984.

She’s as she came out of the factory with the exception of electronic ignition.

I found that car Richard. 11/8/21 at KH & a Plus Six. The body colour is a bit darker.

I do like the matt/satin look.

As I'm having to do more bodywork on mine (rust on wings, and rectifying numerous errors from the previous 'restorer') I'm getting more and more attracted to a 'rattle can' satin black finish.....

I think they are a pain to clean & detail.

Thanks John. I remember it catching my eye at the time. I also saw a tintop with a matt finish but the fad seems to have been dropped.

What is this cleaning/detailing thing?

I'll be honest, apart from the windscreen, I very rarely clean my Mog. However, I went to Worcester and back last weekend, and went through several swarms of white fly - the front of the car is absolutely plastered so will have to get the sponge out this weekend.....

The joy of satin rattle can is that any dinks, marks and blemishes can be fixed easily and cheaply!

Always good to know of an appearance of a Morgan in film or TV, that's one I hadn't heard of.

It's not really possible to judge colours from a 40-year-old film converted to a video stream, but even then the cowl and bonnet look different to me.
