Christo, sadly departed, was perhaps your mentor? A technical marvel is covered up so as not to frighten the new generation of over-critical technophobes. If the skilfully laid cover, which Michelangelo could not have chiselled better in marble, were pulled away, it would cause a shock like a naked beauty would have done a short time ago. You have done everything right. A work of art.

I'd certainly rather look at that than Tracey Emin's unmade bed!

It is an impressionist masterpiece, needs to move to the Tate Modern..... I could sit and look at it for hours....

Shockingly sensual. Evocative of the Venus of Milo.

Art for Art's sake.................
The Turner Prize made me laugh. Really? Like the Tracy Emin stuff.
The critics gather round and coo coo rubbish, literally.
Being of a Yorkshire persuasion, I have no time for pretentoius twaddle in any category, but art in general......well it makes people very rich. I appreciate talent from the great classical artists, but what I don't get is sneeringly upper class twits droning on about art when they wouldn't even be able to clean a brush.
Covid has made me less tolerant. How about that.

This year's Turner winner is delightful - a real sense of humour, looking at everyday objects in different ways. https://townereastbourne.org.uk/whats-on/turner-prize/jesse-darlingAnd photos likely don't do the work justice. It's at Towner Eastbourne until next April. Will

Sorry but I must be missing something on this Turner offering. For me it does not reflect in any way what I would call art. Not even close.
I’m with Dave on this.

I’m with Dave on this. Me too. I think it's a bit of "the Emperor's clothes" thing, convince people with more money than sense that something is art and they'll agree and buy it rather than risk looking uneducated. I appreciate fine paintings, sculptures etc. but just don't get this at all. Just my humble opinion.

I agree, although I think the same about a lot of expensive items like watches, wine etc. There's a show on called 'Fake or Fortune' where they investigate whether a painting can be attributed to a known artist, and if so, they value rises from £100's to £100,000's. What they always fail to address is that regardless of the name of the painter, it's the same painting. Either it's a good painting or it isn't!

I often think about the Inheritance Tax Dodgers when I see this kind of pretentiousness and smile thinking they deserve to get caught out imho Not those with Classic cars though
