Quite agree, Ian. I wonder how much of this will ever be made public. I suppose the best to say is that bad things happen.

It is strange isn't it. I'm guessing MMC or the BBC have tried an NDA on this as part of the deal.

Regardless of never having driven a 3 wheeler, but having seen them chucked about I find it difficult to see how you could roll one at 22mph even with prodigious volumes of deliberate incompetence.

Presumably there was something amiss in the car's prep for it to flip at 22mph.
Which would be why the BBC is accepting liability & their insurers are paying compensation.

The HSE did investigate, they leave no stone unturned, and are always looking to apportion responsibility so they can issue a chunky fine, this is sometimes done just because the proper risk assessment paperwork is not in place [even if no-one injured] fines for even procedural voids are often exploited, and I understand they didn't take any action against the BBC

What I find intriguing is that there has been little to no information about the S3W being involved anywhere. I am fine with that, we don't need any ill-informed noise on that front from the sound-byte morons. I am just surprised how silent it has been.
Lets face it even with four wheels it can be simple enough to wipe out.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Lets face it even with four wheels it can be simple enough to wipe out. Whilst in principle I agree with you to protect the brand, however if there is a fundamental flaw in the design of any vehicle or potential issues /limitations in the operating window of the vehicle to a which the driver maybe exposed to in use...that does need to be made very public. There is no point in having safety regulations to protect occupants and pedestrians, if there are any latent potential issues in the vehicle operation, I would suggest there needs to be an informed release if only to kill off any potential rumours and inform prospective buyers. I've been a motorcyclists for most of my life, I know it is inherently more dangerous than driving a car, hence the law in this country requires you to wear a helmet and motorcycle gear has to meet minimum standards. Whilst I'm prepared to ride a bike, having done my own risk assessment of well publicised and known dangers and risks. I personally would never drive a Morgan 3 wheeler, they IMHO are too low for my liking and may not been seen by other vehicles. There again I don't enjoy driving a 4 wheel Morgans on motorways and fast dual carriageways with heavy commercial traffic as they are very low and may not be spotted by lorries. Of course everyone has their own tolerance of risk, but some markets like the USA can be quick to litigate. Whilst you may or may not agree, other manufacturers have pages of warnings and safety instructions on the operation of something as a simple as the engine stop/start system.......with good reason.
