An odd thing has happened to my cursor. when I compose a reply, my cursor has disappeared! If I restart; Lo! it re-appears!

I never get a cursor in the reply window until I've typed the first character, after that it is ok. This happens on every line, i.e. the cursor is never visible when it is on the extreme left of the box.
It started happening a couple of years ago, I've got used to it.

I have a cursor on a reply from the start but it looks like a side elevation of an RSJ not an arrow.

Sorry, folks, I meant the flashing cursor which tells you where you are in your typing. I think I'm now in the same situation as Ian.

It is just visible at the extreme left of the box on my Android tablet.
