I’ve started my winter jobs early.

Wing off to get the running board off for painting again as it started to blister up.

Got me thinking about these huge CATs.

I was going to get a bypass pipe made for the secondary as I want more noise. It looks so big I reckon it could cause emission issues come MOT.

Someone suggested punching out the internals of the smaller CAT. Has anyone tried this?

Another job is the repaint the calipers as they’ve faded but I’m not skilled enough to delicately paint around the engraving. Will see.

you could use a thinly coated sponge roller on the flat logo area and a brush for the rest?

I've had great results with faded indented logo's using the following method:

After repainting the whole main body and allowing plenty of time to not only dry but harden, the logo can then be brush filled in with contrasting paint that works with white spirit as solvent. Excess paint can then be wiped off with single stroke of clean tissue lightly soaked in white spirit.

Yeah I had that thought earlier. It’s an option.

I might try some rubberised masking fluid.

Loool
I used Humbrol Maskol. Kind of rubberised liquid. Smells like Copydex.

Filled the engraving with it. Painted the calipers lightly (on the fronts) used a toothpick to peel the masking out while the paint was semi dry them Matt lacquered them.

I used the white spirit method but you do it whilst the paint is still well.
