glad you had a good visit down south and enjoyed Emsworth, we try to keep secret how nice it is here ! ;-)

The secret is already out. We've made several visits in the past staying at the Brookfield Hotel. The Brookfield has been sold. it is now closed for extensive refurbishment and updating. Don't think it is reopening until next spring.

The secret is already out. We've made several visits in the past staying at the Brookfield Hotel. The Brookfield has been sold. it is now closed for extensive refurbishment and updating. Don't think it is reopening until next spring. Yes, the owners retired and sold the Brookfield Hotel to the Heartwood Inns group earlier this month. It is scheduled to reopen next April as "The Rope & Anchor" pub. The SogMog Christmas lunch was booked there again this year. Sadly no one thought to inform us of the closure leaving the chairman scrambling to find somewhere else that could accommodate 50 diners in December.

Hi Ian, did you get the wing fixed? Happy with Lillywhites? Hi Kevin! We were down in Emsworth on Sunday. Wendy & I had a lovely walk out towards Langstone in the afternoon sun. I called Lillywhites yesterday. They've been doing some other work on it for me, new front brake callipers and sorting out the intermittent misfire, which they tell me is done ... but the new wing is taking a bit of fettling to fit. In the meantime, when the weather allows, I'm pootling around at a more sedate pace in the Chummy!
