We were in Cardiff in 2017, when Eliot Daly’s last minute try gave England the win.  The local man beside us, wearing the “Anyone But England” tee shirt was in tears and nearly inconsolable. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

Wales have less registered rugby players than Italy does yet no one expects Italy to win the world cup, So you could argue by size Wales always over perform at the world cup, England have the 3rd highest number of registered players behind the Boks and France with the most. So relatively speaking England finishing 3rd was the least we should have expected.

Wales have less registered rugby players than Italy does yet no one expects Italy to win the world cup, So you could argue by size Wales always over perform at the world cup, England have the 3rd highest number of registered players behind the Boks and France with the most. So relatively speaking England finishing 3rd was the least we should have expected. I'll point you to my earlier post re strength and depths of many teams substitute benches, and the relative inequality it creates, therefore restrict the number of substitutes allowed and level the playing field up for some countries. Lets not forget the numbers of Kiwis and pacific nation players on other national teams, to begin to really understand where the depth and breadth of rugby skills really lies. The pacific nation players for size of population outperform every other country, the likes of Fiji put northern hemisphere countries efforts into the shade eg Rugby 7's, Olympic Gold Medallists, Quarter finalists in the World Cup

And just for balance this - TikTok Women's Six Nations 1m · 💪 Federazione Italiana Rugby round off the competition with an impressive win over the USA 🤩 Italy 30-8 USA p.s. I feel sorry for Giles in Paris with the hosts getting knocked out so early on in proceedings. p.p.s. England always perform better as the underdogs and coming third at World level is a great achievement for  not just  I shall be sorry to see Joe Marler retire as he is a great character on the International scene. Enjoy the final this evening. Our Daughter in law is South African so we are rooting for them, having lived and worked there too we have great affection for the emerging unified Nation. Well my predicted dark horse won, by one point again......the game was in NZ hands to lose, dropping 5 kicking points saw the end of their challenge, well done SA, some brutal tackles by SA and moments of brilliance by NZ. Roll on the upcoming internationals.

I think the red card was very harsh and ruined the forwards contest. If Cane was guilty then Kolisi was too In the end it was compulsive viewing, shame it wasnt 15 on 15.
