Nice penwork ... style very much of the period ... the top one wouldn't look out of place in an illustrated magazine of the time. Lovely things to have in your family history!

Assumed name! .... you can't trust an artist .... police were probably looking for Albrecht for unpaid bar-bills!! 🙂

I’m sure that Leonardo was in a Monty Python book. I have the book, possibly in the attic. I’ll have a look next time I’m up there.

It is funny ... but not a Leonardo ..... It's taken from Albrecht Durer's snappily titled ... 'The Holy Family and Three Hares' if I'm not mistaken ... do like me a bit of Durer ... one of history's great line-work artists.

And yes! ... the three hares are definitely there! .... AD liked hares for some reason and one formed the subject of one of his most famous works

I loved Giles. I still have his annuals from the 60's and early 70's before I relocated to USA.

Also some "Eagle" annuals. Its amazing to look back and see what the future looked like.

I wish I'd kept my Eagle annuals, they were a great comic to have at the time and I used to drink in the cutaway centre pages which were works of art in their own right.
