Ralph Lauren said that parts of his 1954 Morgan +4 Interim reminded him of his Bugatti Type 57.

Forgive me. I can't see much Art Deco (shiver) about it. Ralph Lauren said that parts of his 1954 Morgan +4 Interim reminded him of his Bugatti Type 57. That is certainly true. But Morgan aesthetics were adopted during an era when Art Deco was the automobile standard worldwide. I don't sense any copying as a factor.[/url] The most striking evidence I have seen of the standards of the day is in the Auburn-Cord-Dusenberg Museum in sleepy Auburn, Indiana. The museum is in their original factory. I would have thought one of the many magnificent auto museums in UK/Europe would have taken the prize. The Museumgmg

The Aero body will not fit on the current CX chassis.

My understanding is that it will be only a few special orders not an additional model.

I would suggest it may also place the Morgan brand into different market sectors, increasing its profile and hopefully raising further interest in it's other offerings. The Aero range are astounding to look at cars, quite unique, especially when you consider they come from such a small manufacturer.

Burgundymog .... it seems that way to me too ... another 'limited edition' marketing ploy ... like the GT one's they did a while back but hanging the edition on a designer rather than a sporting hook.
Also sounds to be very much like a variation on the 'current' morgan rather than a great departure into modernity.

The Aero range are astounding to look at cars, quite unique, especially when you consider they come from such a small manufacturer. Yes, I'd think that's the plan. A limited-run "clear the ground/shift minds/elevate the pricepoint" PR exercise, likely followed up by an open-ended production run of slightly less-special but still more expensive cars. Looking at the CHAT GPT renderings above, it seems that Morgan + Poninfarina produces something not unlike an Aero in concept, so this may well be the real goal - to reinvent the Aero, coachbuilt on the CX chassis, at a higher pricepoint than Plus Four & Six.
