I'm trying to restore my 1958 4/4Series II.
I thought I could learn how to go about doing that here.
She has a Ford 100E engine with an Aquaplane Superhead, and has sat in a garage for the past 30 years.
The current wheels are sized for Volkswagen Beetle tires so I mounted four of them so I can at least move her around..
It's amazing how much a fine car can deteriorate from just being parked and unused confused2
I hope to get her road worthy sometime in 2024, depending on spare time and money.

I'm looking forward to asking a ton of questions of you knowledgeable folks.

Welcome to TM .... great fun cars to work on .... spent a year or so riding my Harley all over CA ... you have some great driving roads ... Morgans are a hoot to drive, and benefit from being used ... don't know where your personal preferences lie but, if you have limited spare time and don't want to spend a fortune on the rebuild then maybe aiming for a 'working car' resto (rather than something for Pebble Beach you may be reluctant to take up a mountain road) might be a way to go 🙂

Good luck with it ... keep us in touch with how it's going ... and we always like pics of cars once you master the odd process of posting them 🙂

It is very rare to find a 4/4 Series II with an original Ford 100E engine . Most were replaced by more powerful later Ford units (usually 1500cc )

The Aquaplane head will of course help, but it is still a heavy old lump of metal and the exhaust valves are still going to be a limiting factor.

The F Type 3 Wheeler crowd know a lot about this engine and many race them . In in the USA try Fred Sissons in Indiana as he is pretty helpful.

You are totally correct about the rest of the car though , it is incredible how lack of use wrecks a perfectly good car . I know of a +4 that was raced in the 60 against Chris Lawrence that the owner parked in a garage , died , his son inherited and has done nothing with it for 20+ years. Moving it now would be a serious proposition!
That is also why my +8 has 75,000 miles on it, folks tell me that is far too many many but for a 1999 car it is barely more than 3500 pa which is just enough to keep it well maintained and used.

I should probably start a separate thread to report on my progress (or adventures) in Morgan restoration.
