Yes I was contemplating the suspension setup -it looks rugged but I would want to try it on a bumpy track to see what really occurs as we all know Morgans have their own idiosyncrasies .

And escort diff? I imagine its an Atlas or at least Escort type with Quaife internals , which seem tolerant of large dollops of power.

Not much sign of rear coilovers here as mentioned earlier, looking similar to normal leaf spring setup. The bare axle pic shows no signs of link points either. Can't even see any panhard rod although doubtless the leaf springs are trick.

Just noticed what looks like state of art radial mounts for front calipers following motorcycle trends. Guess the fabricated stub axle houses lube free bushes, not a grease nipple in sight innocent

Divided loyalties for me here!

One of the other competitors in an RS1600 is Harry Stubbs

I used to navigate for his dad Bryan.

Had a test drive in one of those Arwyn in the early 70's. Just 70 miles on the clock and demonstrated by Crystal of Hull salesman/sponsored rally driver before I was let go.

Thanks for this interesting thread guys.

Wonderful to see Morgans taking part in a rally, and great to see the images of the design alterations too. I note that they are competing under the Italian flag, interesting

Divided loyalties for me too Arwyn, given my fondness for 911`s and of course RS 1600 Escorts..... Just my era of Ford worship... (-:

On the entrants list both crews are listed as Swiss George although clearly the car is English preparation.

Thanks for the heads-up on the nationality of the crews Richard. If you watched the Tuthill 911 vid of their setup for the E.A. rally and the amount of punishment their cars took, it looks to be a very tough event.. I wish the Morgan team all the very best of luck.
