That's why for example we all drive on the same side of the road, we stop at red traffic lights, we give way at junctions, we have speed limits, Not driven in Leicester then John ? Well that's the theory, often the practice varies from place to place........must admit its been nearly 50 years since I visited Leicester, normally I'm passing thru on the way to somewhere else. The last time I visited there were still some shoe manufacturing going on, for what was once one of the leading shoe manufacturing areas, is there much local shoe manufacturing these days? Don't know about shoes, bit it is the UK city of counterfeit 'branded' clothes, the standard of driving would make you gasp I've regularly seen drivers pull up to a T Jn red light who want to go straight on, they drive left over the pavement, make a U turn so they get back to the Jn on your left at green, they then turn left, and in affect jump the red light you are stood at, it beggars belief I think I'll continue to give Leicester a miss.

I remember a contest where many tried to roll a citroen 2cv over by driving full blast and up a bank at the end of a field, steering into the bank. There was a big prize if you could roll one. Several came closeish but noone managed to actually roll one. As kids we had an Invacar 3 wheel tiller steer invalid carriage made by AC that was quite easy to tip over. It had a Villiers 175cc engine & ours was a "convertible" with a canvas roof. It came to an end in a flooded field. Nearest I'm likely to get to driving an AC Cobra. We then got a Austin A40 countryman that broke its back when we had most of the Youth Club inside it. We used to cycle down to the garage & buy a gallon of petrol for 5 bob (25p).

So good to see Freddie employed in an advisory capacity back with England Cricket team management, he has had a very tortuous journey as a result of his accident. I would be most interested if the HSE recommend a four point harness and taller roll over bar in both Super 3 and M3W .. This is not before time either..

From what I read some time ago the HSE did investigate & no further action was taken against the filming team, safety advisor or BBC
I am however convinced that Top Gear is canned and will never return, MMC have been very lucky that the vehicle Freddie was driving has been kept largely from the public domain and the potential on-line sh1tstorm that would have triggered

Thanks Jon, I hadn't read much on the HSE front.
MMC have had a very close escape I think knowing all the publicity a big name and family friendly face that Freddie is.

I find it odd, that the crash is being kept such a secret. Must be a serious reason. I can only surmise that he was doing something really stupid with the car and MMC threatened the BBC with severe sanction if hey lost sales due their stupidity. Still amazed that it has not leaked out. Then again it might be the opposite way round who knows. Just speculation caused by the lack of information.

I agree with you the dirth of facts is stunning considering the size of the global audience and I think it would be a very responsible outcome were the details and/or shortcoming if any of the Super 3 were highlighted so as to prevent a reoccurrence on the highways.
Still Flop Gear has been a comedy show for c 20 years so I'm not hopeful that anything sensible will be posted.

I'm sure if the Super 3 were prone to falling over at 20 mph in the real world when driven by someone even passably competent we'd have heard by now?

I also think that the people influenced by a crash on top gear and associated media frenzy, are very different to the people who'd actually buy a Morgan.....

Could the silence be about the passenger...no details have ever been given about his fate as far as I know.....maybe his injuries were far worse than Freddy's.....
