Back at the start of 2020, just before things got serious, my mother, aged 93 was failing fast. As a result of multiple falls, and a long run of 999 calls, I was interacting regularly with paramedics, hospital staff, district nurses, social workers. Over this period I had a persistent cough. Nothing unusual in that because a cold will often leave me with a lasting cough. BUT, that may have been covid.
Since then, we've been exceptionally careful, and dodged it, until last Saturday. We no longer do three days a week looking after our grandson, because he's now full time school, so we're free again, but last Saturday we went over for a family meal. He looked pale, but he has a pale complexion, and he seemed fine, although since starting school he's never without some infection. We came home Sunday and all was well.
Tuesday morning I got up as usual, but immediately felt off it. LIke a cold was starting up. I've had nothing since that 2020 cough. MrsW felt slightly off too. We thought nothing of it until daughter rang later to say they were both covid positive. So we tested and we are the same. As usual, the virus hits my weak spots, so sinus, runny nose, tickly cough. I also had chills but no fever. MrsW has a really bad throat, and because she has asthma, she has to monitor her peak flow but this is down a bit but OK. She has a slight chesty cough. It's now Friday morning. Paracetamols are keeping us in the game, and symptoms are steady, with a slight improvement. What's also interesting is that my left arm where I had the shots has been itching on and off. Someone else we know had this happen when they got covid.
So there you have it.

We're seeing an increase in school at the moment. Symptoms are so much milder that many don't test any more which means it spreads around, but no different to the common cold.

I think I have probably had COVID,last month, but as we don't have any test strips I don't know for sure. It may also have been a reaction to the vaccination, either way I felt off colour, easily tired and lethargic for a week to 10 days. A slight cough and tight chest, which is my weak area. I'm back to normal now.
For 99% of the population I feel it is time to forget Covid and move on. I had my flu vaccination last week, as normal no reaction and I feel fine.
I have had full winter tyres fitted to the Boxster, a light car, rear engined with 350bhp that is used through the winter it seemed prudent! Timely as I drive back from the dealer through falling sleet.....the gritters were out with a vengeance.

Sorry to read of those suffering symptoms.
I had both flu and Covid jabs in the same arm some weeks back and being in my 70`s, fortunately I seemed to suffer no issues..

My wife and I both had the flu and covid vaccinations a few weeks ago, with both us feeling off the day after. Our grandson picked up a bad cough over the October half term which he passed on to his parents both of whom went down with, seemingly, flu. Our son has been badly affected, still not fully recovered after 4 weeks. Then 2 weeks ago I caught it and have been unwell since. A persistent cough and catarrh which keeps me awake at night. My wife seems immune to it. I have been told it's a very virulent type which is prevelent around here. Now in my early 80's I find it more difficult to throw off these infections.

MrsW has a really bad throat, and because she has asthma, she has to monitor her peak flow but this is down a bit but OK. She has a slight chesty cough. I don't know if it's any help but when I get a sore throat, I use "Ultra Chloraseptic" spray and it works a treat.

Having managed to totally dodge covid all the way through the main outbreaks, both myself and the boss both tested positive this week.......!!🤯 I just feel like I've got a bit off a cold, really don't feel too bad at all, my wife is a little bit worse, but not very much. A friend, who we probably caught it off, has been in bed for 3 days🤷🏻♂️
Kill or cure recipe....... the juice of 1 lemon, a big measure of rum, a couple of paracetamol, honey, and hot water. Don't spill it on the furniture and it may take the enamel off your teeth, but it's always worked wonders for us.....!

I had covid back in 2020 it knock me for six (Dec- April.) I take extra care when I take my grandkids to school As soon as they get into the car the mask goes on and stays on until I drop them off at school then only take it off when I get back in my car. This week I`ve been on nursing duty when one of them has had a bad cough and has been off school all week, but again I wear my mask around her even at home. People at school may look at me but even after having all my jabs there is no way I want to go through what I had again. I have had my recent covid and flu jabs, and even after a month my left arm hurts like hell at times even waking me up at night.
so hope you and MrsW get back on your feet soon.
Mal

Now, despite years of caution, we have caught it after all. Despite the 5 vaccinations in May, I had almost all the symptoms for 2 1/2 weeks.
