Hi all - does anyone know where I can get a drive belt retaining ring for the rear sprocket (2017 M3W)
I have tried the usual suspects but can only get a rear sprocket (at 1000 pound this seems to be an uneconomical way to get hold of one.....)

The retaining rings really are superfluous if the alignment of the sprockets is correct. I'm running an alloy sprocket with no retaining rings at all, with no issues.
Why do you feel the need to fit a retaining ring?

Everything is lined up but I still get 3mm of overhang. I can live without it but if I could get one O would use it.

As Bitsobrits says, the outer retaining ring on the rear sprocket is really not required. Early M3W's never had them fitted from new and some owners have removed them from later cars to reduce belt noises from slightly out belt alignment. If you can get one or have one made, no problem but I wouldn't let it stop you using the car. About 3 mm overhang on the rear sprocket is what the early M3W's usually had, although they also had the silver hub rather than the later black one your car will have.

Don't get hung up about 3mm of belt overhang mine has been like that for 22k miles without any adverse effect.
