My '58 didn't come with a tool kit and I don't know what tools, outside of the lug wrench, came with her.
I have cobbled together some Whitworth sizes for working on her restoration, but I would like to have a set of useful tools along for when road trips turn into adventures..
I was wondering what you good folks keep on board your Morgans?

Mines a 1972 so a hotchpotch of Imperial and Metric, hex and allen. I often go on week long road trips, so like to be able to ensure my breaks are not spoiled by something that could be an easy repair.

So I carry a set of metric spanners, and a set of imperial spanners. A small 1/4" metric socket set plus a set of imperial sockets. A plug spanner, and an adjustable spanner. Set of 3 pliers (needle/side cutter/combo). Set of Allen Keys. Circuit tester.Small ball pein hammer. Screwdriver bit set, Brake adjusting spanner, Small grease gun. Leatherman Multi tool. Electric air pump. Warning triangle, Wheel chocks. Jack. Wheel brace, Tyre foam, Hub cap remover. Couple of pairs of workshop gloves. Two Fire Safety Sticks.

Can of spray carb cleaner, 750cc of oil, 750cc of water.

Spares - bulbs, fuses, assorted nuts/bolts, cable ties, fan belt, length of heater hose, length of fuel hose, jubilee clips, fuel filter, electric tape, few chunks of spare wire and assorted connectors, idle jet, carb return spring, radiator cap.

And an AA card, but never had to use due to above (and she's well maintained and only ever needed the occasional fettle}.

Check out the previous thread on this topic here. Plenty of suggestions. Don't forget spares for parts that have a reputation for failing on your model such as fuses and relays if your car uses them. Also anything that can be easily carried as a temporary get you home fix - tape, hose clips, cable ties etc.

I suggest Sugru mouldable rubber glue. Invaluable for ad hoc repairs on the move.

And there’s still somewhere to sit?? 😬

Phil has an emminently sensible 4 seater (aka 2 seater+pickup bed like mine🙂) .... I carry most of what I need in suitably selected tupperware boxes (other plasticware is available) ... keeps everything dry and all together. The boxes were selected to slip into the space under the seats (I have the wooden 'seat-risers' so there's 'wasted space' under there) ... safe under there as the crossmember stops anything sliding forward under braking.

As Keith says, I have the best Morgan, the 1600 4 seater! There is a full width tool tray under the bonnet (plus space for the battery). That carries most of the kit, There is also lots of space under the seats, where I keep the rest of the other stuff, as well as a steering wheel lock, a pacsafe cage and drybag, a storm cover, a screen scraper and a cloth for clearing the screen. Room in the passenger footwell for a fleece blanket as the Mrs feels the cold. When I had the seats retrimmed I had full width pockets put in the back and they hold a couple of micro towels, Hi Viz vest and hats/gloves etc,

I keep the jack/tyre foam behind the rear seats (where I also store the front and rear side screens).

I could make up a tool tray to go under the rear seat squab, but to be honest I don't really need any more storage space! I have a rear rack, but that's in the loft - I only use that for camping holidays. For normal holidays I just remove the rear seats and I can get five 65 litre bags in the back.....
