What a great local place to meet. Think of the history and all of the people who have gathered together at this location since the early 17th century.

Yes after an hour and half of Church Bell ringing we often retire there for a wet or three. This is the motley crew a few years back when we helped get them the 100' down the tower to be shipped to London Village to be retuned and augmented with another two small one's to make us a full eight the tenor is near enough 14cwt.

Our favourite watering hole just outside Goudhurst, Kent which dates back to 1380. The first image is from 1891, and the second how it looks today.

Wow, circa 1387. Painted right on the front. What a destination ride with a Morgan. Went to their Facebook page. Looked up the menu. The Sunday roasts offering caught my eye. Roast Topside of English Beef with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, a selection of vegetables and gravy. Yes, please!

For our friends on the other side of the pond here's a guide to making a proper Steak and Kidney pudding, I just absolutely want one now!! .... but as the annual winter over-eating fest is about to begin I'll wait til later in the winter ..
... comfort foods don't get much more comforting than this on a cold winter's day 😋
