As Iread through this thread I was reminded of a time when HOG a UK magazine aimed at Harley owners was reportedly threatened with legal proceedings by HD.. A best I can remember HD said that the name/term HOG was theirs.... All of which caused me to initially wonder if Morgan had flexed their copyright muscles, as I believe they may have done in the past to some degree... Glad to read that no such thing has occurred and that the mag will be available for those who enjoy it..

That's an interesting point. Searching at Intellectual Property Office the name "HOG" is indeed registered by Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc.for anything related to motorbikes and motorcycling. The word "MOG", however, isn't registered at all for motor vehicle manufacture. It is registered for printed publications "relating to motor and motorised vehicles" by Alphadeal Limited, the publisher of Mog magazine. So the boot is on the other foot, MMC could face action from the magazine if they started using the name "Mog" in publications! "Mog" is also registered by HarperCollins Publishers Limited, presumably in relation to the children's picture books.

IIRC, the original MOG when launched had quite a bit of Factory (££?) support

The problem with all single interest magazines is that there's only so much you can write, before repeating. That's OK when subscribers come and go, but maintaining readership long term takes some effort. Once it descends into "event" coverage and so on.........interest will drift away.

My copy dropped through the door this morning, just had a quick flick through it so far but it looks like a much better mag than it was before. The cover price has risen to £10 though!!

My copy arrived today, haven't had a chance to read it yet but first impressions were that it's not glossy like the previous incarnation but it is thick - 115 pages. I wonder if they'll be able to keep up that level of content in the long term? Good interview with Massimo Fumarola, the MMC CEO, but I don't agree with his thought that "..the younger generations are more attracted to Morgan than the older generations. I think the new generation are more attracted to what it means. They enjoy the experience of driving a Morgan." I was glad to read that they recognise their quality control isn't good enough and are working on that.

Mine dropped in today, my understanding is that it’s going to be a quarterly magazine so £10 per copy seems very reasonable. I’ve yet to read it all but 115 pages it looks to have plenty of interesting content.

If it is still the same team then you have to admire their commitment.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
