I have a complete rover 3.5 engine condition unknown plus a Morgan plus 8 bell housing, clutch mechanism and slave cylinder, a completely rebuilt R380 gearbox using oem parts and gearbox to chassis bracket which I would like to sell as I am converting to a Tremec T5 setup. How and where do I place this on the forum??

Hi Toony, I believe you may need a minimum number of posts, although you may have enough already. In any case posts in the For Sale/Wanted section may need to be approved by Simon, the TM forum owner, which may take a day or two. Asking price needs to be included on any such post, with replies received strictly via the personal mail section of your TM account.

Hi, You are so wise to use the Tremac. I've just popped one into my V8 MGBGT and its a great gearbox. Just don't forget to use high quality auto trans fluid in it (to preserve the synchro rings) not regular gear oil. Mine has no facility for a mechanical speedo drive so best use a new speedo with a gps or hall effect sensor.

No minimum post count Richard - just a minimum length of membership in an attempt to stop people registering just to sell. As Toony has been a member since 2014, this does not apply.

How and where do I place this on the forum?? I have a long line of moggers waiting for a R380. 1. I have to know which model the R380 is, the 4x4 version used by Land Rover (which are easy to find and ill not fit a Morgan) or the rare 2WD version used by Morgan and TVR. Do you have a serial number. That will aso indicate when it was made. The pre-Febuary R380s must be rebuilt to correct an internal defect. 2. What type of bellhousing is it? That will indicate your car year. gmg P.S. There are two UK suppliers that sell bespoke cast bellhousings for T5 to Rover V8 bellhousings. Makes life simple for the post 1977 crowd. They can be used for the Rover 4 speed. They can be used for Mossboxes (1968-1972) but that gets problematic. And for the 1986-1970 crowd, it is smarter to just sell it to a UK racer for LOTS of money. They sell for more than a low mileage Plus Fours and Plus Sixes P.P.S I do not recommend you use anything but a World Class T5. The power of a Rover V8 quickly snafu the other variants. P.P.P.S I have often mused about a T5 transplant but did not do it. The Morgan Rover Plus 8 stock gear ratios are made for a truck.

I'd love to here more about the T5 conversion, if you're interested in sharing your experience.

HI everyone, I am brand new to the forum and looking forward to learning more from the true enthusiasts that have been driving Morgans for years. My experience is fairly short lived but exciting by owning an Aero Super Sport for over two years and now an Aeromax. These cars have been the largest attention getters at shows you can ever imagine. I had noticed by looking at the forum some folks have been in dire straights looking for replacement wheels for the Aero Super Sport. Hard to believe I have a set of four black and an extra silver. All are orginal from the factory. I am in no hurry to sell them and I know new members can't post for sale items, yet I thought it unfair not to let folks know there are wheels available.
