Ewan, you are a man after my own heart… a commercial 110, and you still have a piece of cardboard beneath the pallets grin2

I’d do exactly the same!

Re the jump seat - the centre console is nice but the jump seat folded down is not bad as well - decent height armrest, cup holders, charging point, storage all integrated in the back of the third seat, so when folded, still very functional. A friend with a 110 commercial has it and whilst not as aesthetically clean as the fixed console, practical and functional imho.

As Ewan will attest, the only change between the 250 and 300 engines is a remap - so if one desired more power, you could always have it remapped once it was out of warranty; however, I am yet to hear anyone complain about the 250 and the torque is more than adequate for towing.

The disposable, recyclable anti muck mat was an aftermarket upgrade, I like the rubber floor to stay clean and stink free. Despite there being superbly designed rubber trays in the footwells, I also bought these 100% genuine protective floor mat protectors.

Would the Ineos Grenadier have been an alternative for the new Defender for you?

Classy additions Ewan ... good to see British craftsmanship isn't dead .... but, what's that traitorous drinking device doing there!! 🙂 .... glad you're getting on with your new toy ... will have to pop over and view it sometime.

Won’t speak for Ewan but Ineos did not achieve commercial vehicle status in the UK, therefore the tax implications for business owners are markedly different. This, in my opinion, is a mistake and a member of their executive team went as far as to state that they were ‘focusing on a world vehicle’ hence it wasn’t a priority. Perhaps this position will change in time but at the moment, they don’t offer a passenger van style vehicle which complies commercial status.

Personally I liked the idea of the vehicle; however, some of the less than ideal press and reviews the Grenadier received at launch caused me to pause, even before the tax status. This was exacerbated by the owners forum and some of the owner reports I have read.

The Harry’s Farm / Garage (sorry cannot remember which channel he posted it on) review of the Grenadier was less than complimentary.

I ruled the Grenadier out because the seats do not fold flat - which was a deal breaker for me. Wanted a Defender 110 5 seat but L-R lead times kept extending and the price kept increasing. Ended up with a DIscovery 5 which does the job we need very well. I can cart crumblies round in the back and the seats fold flat so I we can get 11 bales of shavings plus some horse feed in it when required (once a month in Winter, the January shavings run was this morning).

The Ford mug was liberated several years ago from the Edinburgh dealership, I’d gone to take a look at the then newly released RHD mustang, they made me a coffee so hot I couldn’t drink it so I asked if I could take it away with me😁

I didn’t give the Ineos a thought I’m afraid, I presumed they be too expensive. The only reason the defender entered the equation was the price ( in commercial guise) is much the same as the V6 Amarok it replaced. The Amarok was also a great tool and in some ways more practical but for me, the Landy is (and looks) better.

^ Nothing shameful about having a Blue Oval mug, they've produced some great cars in their 100 year history smile

Raining cats and dogs today, one thing I’ve noticed, puddles only slightly deep throw a huge deluge of water over the windshield, far more than other vehicles I have, I suppose I could drive a little slower 😁 It had a good towing test this evening, the full capacity and it barely noticed it, quite impressive for a glorified van.
