I’ve playing with the configurator and man is there a ton of options, kind of fun and wow doesn’t that price add up fast.
Here’s a list of the options in order of importance we found over a few weeks… but would like opinions as I’m sure over 2 weeks it wasn’t enough to gauge if they really were needed or could be left off and save some pennies…

1. Heated seat …. I can’t even imagine not having this … most used option .. was dec I guess smile
2. AC .. I’m sure it will get hot one day
3. Union Jack badge and Morgan logo on the headrests … I mean you have to right.
4. The comfy seats….. not sure on this one as we had one with comfy seats and they were pretty good.
5. Spare tire and back rack… being 6ft3 with that seat right back it seems sensible to have someway to strap stuff on
Here’s where I really don’t know.
6. That really expensive audio… the car had … we never used it … so noisy in the cabin I can’t really see any reason to spend 3k … but maybe there are reasons…
7. Sports exhaust … not even sure I know what this does … or do I know if our car had it or not…. Do love the burble of spitting a little extra fuel down the exhaust though!

All advise welcome … oh and advice on how to tell the wife I’m getting a new toy

Oh and least I forget the extended warranty …. I’ve read enough to perhaps even make this number 1 …..

heated seat .. definitely, if you use it in the winter
a/c ... I use mine in the rain/damp to try & dehumidify the cabin ...hmmm
badges .. get them off librand for a tenner & put them on yourself correctly aligned . head rest stitching.. yes
standard seats are fine.. I can sit in them all day
spare tyre .. peace of mind especially if touring abroad. boot rack essential if touring. I use surfing/waterproof duffel bags
audio .. had a system retrofitted .. tunes are essential for me.
exhaust .. how much? the standard burbles nicely in sport mode
warranty .. im now thinking about this too.

ive also got spot lamps .. look cool & give fantastic light on a dark country road.
went for light grey leather interior to avoid red hot black leather in the sun .. however it doesn't half show the muck.

as for telling the wife ... I don't want to go thro' that again !!!!!

Stereo so I can hear the sat nav
Spoke wheels for the trad look
Heated seats as the heater is not as good as my old GDI
No air conditioning. The only time I previously wanted it was stuck in a traffic jam in Italy.
Rack for touring
Auto box …although that’s std now

Agreed re the heated seat option. Mine are excellent - can't leave them on the high setting for long!

Yep - I had them fitted to my old 4/4. Great upgrade - and a bargain at £40!

Yes seat heaters were my number 1 option… though very weird switch position … spent hours the first time trying to find it …
And yes on can’t leave it too long on high… wow does it heat you up… almost cooks you .. but nice with the top down at 8C smile

Nice that they work on the backrest too. Not always the case

I did similar with the configurator when the cars first came out. Repeated as developments kicked in.
Started as absolute basics then added “must haves” based on experience.
Auto or manual? Auto after test drives of both. Paddles to give manual option made that easy.
Luggage rack a definite. Sidescreen storage version.
Spare wheel or none? Hmmm opted for spare.
That got the car up and running and usable.
Next the extras ....
Heated seats. Car used all year round so a big plus.
Aircon...hmmmm would have been nice on a few trips in the past.

So....off to a dealer for a look at cars already spec’d, built and also configurate a new build.
Saw and tested a new car they had. Liked it. There were some extras such as paint type and colour, leather type, colour, stitching. In fact they added to the car. Luggage rack thrown in as part of the deal.

The sound system? No. I plug in my phone to play music if needed. It is a good sound system without the upgrade. The radio in my older trad was ok but road/wind noise tended to drown it. The plys Four sound is far better.
Storage space limited though. Glovebox is ok but limited. The jack, tyre goo, tools would benefit from storage space, currently behind the passenger seat in their leather bags. I have an elasticated net hooked to the seats for some items such as cloths, hat and small items (£4 off ebay).
I had a Librands roll bar fitted to the previous car and would seriously consider one if available for this new chassis.
More bling? No. Not even spotlamps! The headlights are so much better than on the old car that they would be expensive ornaments!
I’d like a dipstick though! Old school oil checks rather than the on-board version via the screen. The screen one is ok when you get used to it.

I would agree regarding both of these.

I see you have Furka Rouge …. So far my favorite …. Love it with the black alloys ….
