I have just replaced the fuel pump and filter on my 2012 3W. On the exact same hose as shown in the photo from RoyG, that hose as well as all the others came off using Knipex pliers as suggested in the great article by Ian Brett & Andrew Warren back in April 2020.

However, when reconnecting that hose it is not locking on like the others. Did not notice until trying to start the engine and it blew off spraying fuel.

Is there a way to solve this short of a new line?

Tks.

When you are talking about using the old "Quick-connect", maybe this is a solution.
It worked for me

alternative for a quick-connect

It sounds like you have damaged the quick release fitting as they usually just snap back on with no problems about security or leaks. I have not tried Herries fix but it looks good to get you going. I would be replacing the end fitting if it isn't working properly. They are available on eBay, if you look up "Bundy Type 7.89mm ID6". There are several different end fittings, some have much easier to press release buttons.
