So first off apologies as this is sort of a wanted request but not a wanted post, as in I know its hard to find them so putting this in the wanted section won't work - but I figured I would instead ask here and see if anyone know wheres to obtain one. So I have seen a few Morgan's with this version of Becker Mexico: ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/5YdtbnT.jpg) I think they look great and would be a nice upgrade for the GTN - question is where to find one? I have only seen the odd few come up for sale for really rather silly prices, so was hoping someone may know where to procure one half sensibly? I am also unsure as to what model number is suitable, there seems to be a few. If they are only available at dealers will silly mark-ups, any alternatives would be greatly recieved. Many thanks

Nick, in all honesty, they look far better than they function. I had one, from new, in my Aero and purchased it at retail price; by the time they discontinued it, I saw NIB (new in box) ones selling for circa £4k+. Even at retail it felt clunky and poorly considered. Certainly a good example of form over function and personally I wouldn't pay an inflated aftermarket price. Does your GTN have the dark dash or a silver one? If you are looking for something retro but functional, I have used one of these in a modern classic: https://www.cen.uk/blaupunkt-bremen-sqr-46-retro-car-stereo-80s-classic-bluetooth-dab-usb-sd-aux-1Whilst they lack the 'silver art deco look', they benefit from the lack of flashing screens and neon-esque features of many modern ICE units, which I was keen to avoid in a Morgan as well as any classic car. Blaupunkt offer other retro versions but I felt the Bremen was the closest to what I wanted for the particular classic I was fitting it to. However, the also offer the: https://www.classiccarstereo.co.uk/...-car-stereo/blaupunkt-stockholm-400-dab/And I see a Hamburg is in the works, although this seems less 'Morgan' to me and more 80s JDM: https://www.classiccarstereo.co.uk/...car-stereo/blaupunkt-hamburg-sqm-23-dab/If you want more of the deco look, I've heard reasonable things about these (they offer various cosmetic versions, not just the first photo in the link): https://www.raysmith.co.uk/products/retrosound-classic-car-radios?variant=42504842510558Personally, all I want is something that streams music/radio/etc from my phone, so as long as it looks good and does that, I don't need anything more.

I've got the Nurnberg200 in my MG - very similar but the illumination is all white. Very pleased with it.

I haven't seen or used the Becker Mexico so not much I can add to your original request. However, I have seen these in person and I was quite impressed. Whilst it is quite costly, it brings together some nice tech in a single din radio. The Universal version is the one to look at. If I recall correctly, Porsche used to offer this as well Mercedes for their classic range. There is a decent forum thread I can send if interested. JLR Classic Look Single DIN Radio With Navigation

I had a look at the Blaupunkt when I was searching for a replacement for my Aero. There a couple in that range/style. It looked way better than the Alpine. It had all the key bits, bluetooth to iPhone, DAB+ and it looked smart against the black finish turned dash in mine. It had a couple of limitations. 4 way speaker outputs but the internal amp was quite weak if you like to hear when driving Only 2 way pre-AMP level outputs (not high power pre-output so you need an amp with good input gain) You could use the internal amp for the fronts and the pre-out to power an additional amp for the rear IIRC but do check if this is what you are after. The smaller 4x6 in the front of the Aero door cards cannot take too much power, if you have the door cards off they are worth uprating. The speaker cable is also worth replacing however getting anything through the door pillar bundles without risk of long term abrasion is difficult. I have the Becker Indianapolis in the S2 and it looks more integrated so perhaps don't fixate on a Unicorn and consider a different Becker ? Just an idea? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265720728979? It has a good 4 way built in amp as well.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I would agree that the output of the 200 series in not great - it's loud enough in the enclosed MG, but nowhere near what I've achieved in other installs. I've got four 4" speakers (two in the door, and two in the rear side panels) powered by the head unit, and then an active Blaupunkt sub woofer behind the front seat which gives a good punchy bass.

Hi, I do agree with some of the comments being made about the Becker Mexico 7948. A previous owner of my Aeromax fitted one before I acquired the car (I am the third owner) and it ceratinly fits the retro style of the car very well. However it is very expensive to purchase (£2000+ with s couple currently being offered on Ebay) and not very intuitive to use. It certainly has a lot of features, but the manual which I have downloaded of the internet might as well be written in swahili for all the use it is in getting to grips with changing settings. The blue-tooth hands free connection to my iphone works well and so is useful but the built in satnav is less so as Becker are no longer interetsted in providing aftermarket support for this prodcut and so neither the software or the maps can be updated. This, and the very limited screen means that if I need a satnav facility in places I am unfamiliar with then I just use one of the multitude of mapping apps available for my iphone. Hope these thoughts help you make up your mind which way to go. Malcolm

Thanks Simon, dark dash on the GTN. Some really great options here that I like the look of - will definately be doing some research on these! Thanks - will add this to the research list! Thanks Alistair, this thread has definately changed my mind on those units - espicially considering how well priced some of the other units are and how good they look. Interesting regarding the specs, I think I will upgrade the headunit first (and get something more in keeping with the car) and then see how it sounds and go from there.
