£850,000 in deposits alone. If Morgan is able to complete all of those transactions (and if none of them were bespoke), that would come to a total of £25,500,000 made off the vehicle. I would say thats a fairly solid investment for Morgan.

I'm not sure your calculations are all profit Krod. Whilst I am sure Morgan would dearly love to earn that sort of money, I would take an educated guess that the net profit that Morgan make would be nearer £2,500 per car, which I believe is good for this type of vehicle, so, sadly, Morgan will only be making profits of just over two million pounds off their existing order book on three wheelers, which, it seems they are hoping to fulfil in the next 12 months.
So not half bad, but not quite as good as the headline figures would suggest.
The big question of course, is what took them so long to think of the idea?

The big question of course, is what took them so long to think of the idea? Yes, My number was net sales, not net earnings. I wasnt including running costs or other expenses which would obviously bring their bottom line down further than the numbers I quoted. Also, Morgan didnt come up with the idea, Pete Larsen did and Morgan purchased the rights for producing the car and changed it to fit more with the Morgan styling.

A couple of major flaws in your calculation, the £30k figure you have used includes 20% for the chancellor, so that leaves £25k.
From this you then need to subtract the dealer margin, which maybe between 3-10% we can all guess at this, so the earning are starting to deminish.
I'd like to MMC make some money from the 3 wheeler as without this model development will cease.

I realize net sales does not equal net profit. My original wording may not have emphasized this, which is why I corrected myself in the second post. As I dont know how their costs structure breaks down, I wasnt going to even attempt to quote that. My apologies

Hmm, I wonder what their net profit per unit, before tax, would be, maybe guestimating at around £2500 may be too generous ................. or not?

I expect that a significant amount of the profit comes from certain of the bespoke options.
