I remember on one European trip, while not far from home in driving rain, seeing bikers on their way to Liverpool to catch the ferry to the IOM for the TT, sheltering from the torrent on the hard shoulder under a motorway bridge... Not a good omen near the start of a 4k mile adventure. However for the majority of our trips the hood was off from the minute we hit France if not before...(-:

During our Italian trip things really felt HOT, though the old Mog never once spat out any coolant.. I suspect Ferrari`s may well be more used to Italy than Morgan...(-: With thinning hair at the time a hat was a must, I remember just before we entered Italy my good lady heading off to the shops in Menton to buy a wider brimmed hat.

We also stayed at a reasonably well appointed Agritourismo a mile or two outside Cortona, which was a Tuscan hill top town we enjoyed wandering through, one evening crossing into close by Umbria to a lakeside restaurant, and on the drive home it rained, for the first and only time when on the continent, we left the hood off it was a balmy evening and the aromas generated by the rain as the soil and plants were gratefully absorbing every drop, was quite wonderful..... Yeah creating memories that can last for years, decades even.... Wonderful

Agreed, I always drive with the roof down unless conditions are really harsh. I find when the temperature goes above 40C it can get a little rough on exposed delicate British skin and there can be long term repercussions, which is why dermatologists do good business over here. On the last Morgans Over America there was a good array of Bimini's, different designs and variety of colours, which made for much interest on our stops. It was around 33C when the picture below was taken:

Have a laugh at my expense, here’s my hat on a windy walk a week or so ago.

Excellent, that's a good sturdy wide brimmed hat just what you need. We had just over a foot of good heavy wet snow last night which brings our total to about 5 feet so far for this winter with another 2 snowy months to go.

You must have the most British looking hat in 🇺🇸 USA!😂
Ironic that I have a cowboy hat, I suppose I should wear a tam o’shanter cap. What would an Italian dude wear on his head I wonder?

I would pass on Venice and hit the roads down into Como.

If you can a chance drive thru the 53 tunnels on the far side of Lake Garda, nothing quite like the sound of an engine barrelling thru the tunnels with music blaring as you pop in and out of the tunnel darkness into the bright sunlight.

Venice is well worth a couple of days if not more. There is a wealth of things to do and see. We never even try to go to Venice by car. I would recommend leaving the car in a secure garage somewhere and going by train; Santa Lucia station is very well placed as the starting point for visitors. There are parking stations but I have never investigated the cost or even if you have to book ahead.

In that area the city of Chioggia is well worth a visit and is less tourist oriented than Venice.

Highly recommended is a visit to Comacchio, sometimes refered to as "Little Venice". If there don't miss the museum, Museo Delta Antico. One of the interesting exhibits is a Roman ship that was recovered, complete with cargo, after being burried in the mud for nearly 2000 years.

We find the whole Po Delta area fascinating and have visited it several times. Watch out for the speed cameras: I managed to get 3 fines for minor excess of speed on one trip all for less than 5 km/h over the limit.

I've always been underwhelmed when visiting Venice, whilst there are so great locations and sites, its a real tourist trap besieged daily by a massive crowd of tourists, making it hard to enjoy some of the attractions and often the incoming tides flood the square etc.

I thought the squares were already flooded.
