Just heard that he has died. I remember his coming onto the scene. Our headmaster introduced him in school assembly as a new teacher. Llanelli Boys’ Grammar. Then his rise to the Lions with Carwyn James. Until his retirement due to the massive public interest. He lived in his village with a quiet life after that. Edwards and John. What a combination.

Sad news indeed, the 70's were halcyon days for Welsh Rugby and Barry John was an outstanding talent in a team full of talent.
Just a shame that he retired so young.

He was regarded as the ‘King’. One of the greatest half back partnerships with Gareth Edwards. RIP Barry John.
