Gentlemen,
My clock has died. I have removed it and put 12V across it, but the second hand clicks one second then stops.
Its a 'MotoMeter' brand, 'Quarz - Zeit' type, 52mm diameter where it goes through the dash. I suspect it is original.
I have sent an email to Melvyn's spares man, but does anyone have any suggestions?

I have exactly this Smiths clock in my 4/4 and it runs perfect on time, easy to read! Better than the clock in my new PlusFour, which is hard to read!

If you're desperate for original, it might be better to see if it can be repaired, or transfer the workings for a smiths one into the original housing.

With such a small overall demand, I would not be surprised if an “original one” is sourced from the same makers as all others. . Only difference will be the mark-up, which may be considerable!
One other thing to take note of, if you buy a replacement and that is the bezel shape. Half round or vee. You may need to swap from your old one to make it match, before you install.

Contact caerbont. They could repair or supply another. They set up when the Smiths factory closed. www.caegauge.comRe the PlusFour clock, mine in the MY23 worked ok but not lit up. Apparently fairly common. I had a new pcb fitted when all the gauges failed and it now lights up.

Try Europa spares for replacement or Caerbont or Speedy cables in Swansea for repair
